Privacy Policy

Effective 13 October 2026. Applies to the Audio Converter app for Windows published by HAYAH.

The short version

Audio Converter converts your files on your own PC. It never uploads your audio, your files or anything about them, and has no account and no advertising. It sends anonymous usage events (which features were used and what happened), which you can turn off in Settings. When you look up a CD, the disc ID goes to MusicBrainz, and the Cover Art Archive is asked for cover art only if you turn that on.

Your files

The app reads only the files and folders you add, drop onto it or send to it from File Explorer, and writes only the converted, ripped or tagged files you ask for. File contents, file names, folder names and tags never leave your device.

Stored on your PC

Your settings, a log file for troubleshooting and a cache of CD lookup answers are kept in the app's own folder on your PC. Uninstalling the app removes them.

Network use

The app connects to the internet only for:

Usage events

The app sends anonymous usage events: which features were used and what happened. For example: that files were added and how many, that a batch was converted, to which format and with which settings, how many files succeeded or failed and the general reason, that the tag editor was used, or that a CD was read, looked up and ripped. Each event carries the app version, the edition, the country as reported by our network provider (Cloudflare), a random identifier for that app session and a one-way hash of a random identifier created when the app was installed. That identifier is not linked to your Microsoft account.

Events never contain your audio or anything that could identify it: no file names, folder names, paths, tags, track titles, artist or album names, disc IDs or cover art. Our server refuses any event that could carry text. We use the events only to improve the app, keep them for up to 180 days, and do not sell or share them. You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Privacy → "Share usage data"; the app then sends nothing and discards anything not yet sent.

Diagnostics

Apart from the usage events above, the app sends no diagnostics of its own. Windows may send crash reports to Microsoft according to your Windows diagnostic settings, and Microsoft may share aggregated reports with HAYAH through Partner Center. These contain no audio or file names.

Children

The app does not ask anyone, including children, for personal information. The usage events above are anonymous and are the same for every user.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, for example when a later version adds optional in-app purchases, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date. Questions: hayah.apps@gmail.com.
